School Council
Gibbons School has an elected school council consisting of parents, staff representatives, the school principal, local trustee and community representatives. The council is a forum where all interested parties may interact and provide input to Gibbons School.
Our school council follows the guidelines specified by Alberta Education and Sturgeon Public Schools. It allows various stakeholder groups more opportunities to become involved in the decision-making process at Gibbons School.
For more information about the roles and responsibilities of school council, please refer to the Alberta School Councils’ Association.
Parent Association Council
Gibbons School Parent Association Council ( PAC ) is made up of elected parent volunteers that meet once a month and work together to coordinate events and programs that effectively support and enhance the educational experience of our student population. The mandate of the group is to raise funds and allocate these monies in such a way as to benefit the school as a whole. Our PAC members promote opportunities via various fundraisers that help offset the cost to the school in providing enhanced educational opportunities such as school wide activities, school events, guest speakers, performers and adding supplemental resources that benefit our children. The PAC also runs, coordinates and operates the Hot Lunch Program.
